Progress is underway to create an appropriate memorial to the tragic events of the 2015 Shoreham Air Show.

On Tuesday 4th April, Adur & Worthing Councils’ Joint Strategic Committee were updated on this progress and heard recommendations relating to financing the development of the memorial, all of which were approved unanimously.

The artists commissioned to design and create the Memorial are Jane Fordham and David Parfitt who are highly experienced artists with a track record in public space commissions.  Their work on the Memorial is sensitive to the unique natural environment found on the banks of the Adur, and responds to the different communities who came together in the wake of the tragedy.

These impressions relate to specific installations within the overall Memorial and are subject to further refinement.  They should not be taken as final and will evolve over the next few months as discussions with the family members continue.  Further artists impressions will become available as the design work progresses.
